We are committed to making wielandappraisals.com accessible to people with disabilities and to providing our appraisal services in a way that respects the dignity, independence, integration and equal opportunity of every client. We welcome the use of assistive devices, service animals and support persons. We want visitors who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification, voice control, or other assistive technologies to be able to learn about our services and request a quote without obstacles.

Accessibility is not a one-time task. We consider it whenever we add or change content on the site, and we welcome feedback that helps us do better.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at Level AA. This is the technical standard referenced by Ontario's Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation, and we adopt it as best practice. Based on our own review, this website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.0 Level AA — most, but not necessarily all, content meets the standard, and we have not yet completed a formal third-party audit. We also follow more recent best practice from later versions of WCAG where we can.

Accessibility has been built into how this website is made. Steps already in place include:

• Semantic, well-structured HTML — the page declares its language, uses proper headings, and marks up regions such as the main content and navigation so assistive technologies can understand the layout.
• A "Skip to main content" link that appears when you start navigating with a keyboard, so you can jump past the menu straight to the page content.
• Full keyboard navigation with visible focus — every link, button, menu, and form field can be reached and operated with a keyboard, and a clear outline shows which element is currently focused.
• An accessible appraisal-request form — each field has a visible, properly linked label, helpful autofill hints, inline error messages, and status updates (such as "submitting" and "submitted successfully") that are announced to screen-reader users as they happen.
• Meaningful text alternatives — our logo and other informative images carry descriptive alt text, while purely decorative icons are hidden from screen readers so they don't add clutter.
• ARIA labels and roles on interactive components — including the navigation menu, the frequently-asked-questions accordion, the testimonials carousel, and the star ratings — so their purpose and state are clear to assistive technologies.
• Attention to colour contrast — we have reviewed and adjusted text and interface colours with readability in mind.
• A dark-mode option in the navigation bar that follows your device's system setting and remembers your choice, which can make reading more comfortable for some visitors.
• A responsive layout that adapts to different screen sizes and supports zooming and text resizing without breaking.

We continue to test and refine the site, and we recognize that some areas may still fall short. Accessibility can also be affected by third-party tools we use and by the particular browser or assistive technology on your device. If you encounter something that is difficult to use, please tell us — real feedback from visitors is one of the most useful ways we find and fix problems.

In keeping with the AODA, we will provide the information on this site, and communicate with you, in accessible formats or with communication supports on request.
